Our client, a Fortune 500 hospitality client, has an opening on contract-to-hire for a SQL Server DBA in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Candidates must be eligible to work for any employer. This is a W2 contract, sorry no C2C

Scope of work:
Mid-Level SQL DBA responsible for Administrating SQL server shore and ship databases. 
Review and QA Database Programs
Deploy database change scripts provided by developers and third party vendors
Installation, configuration, patching, monitoring of critical SQL Server databases
Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends 

Required skills/competencies:
Good working knowledge, understanding and experience in all phases of database administration, including: installation, configuration, physical and logical database design, 
security, troubleshooting, and managing backup and recovery plans. 
Good working knowledge, understanding and experience with configuration and troubleshooting.
Proven experience in supporting production, test, and development database environments. 
Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
Basic understanding of MS SQL Server Clustering. 
Good understanding of Transact SQL. 
Good understanding and experience with ORM like Hibernate 
Will be required to hold the Duty phone. (24x7) 

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent Database Administration experience a must. 

Requires travel including extended travel internationally. US Passport and Major Credit Card required (Work travel expenses will be reimbursed)
